Donīt Look Back In Anger

Information:            The last single from the MG sessions. Itīs sung by Noel.
Liam had to choose between this one and Wonderwall to sing.
He chose W. and all Oasis fans are happy that he did.
But one dream of mine is that ones hearing Liam sing DLBA.
A dream, I think, it will always be...
It became their second number 1.
The lines; "Stand up beside the fireplace, take that look
from off your face." are memories from when Noel, Liam
and Paul every year would take their christmas card and
                                 their mom would say that.
Liam came up with the line; "So Sally can wait".

                                 Noel has said this about the song;
" I went up to The Manor when Paul Weller was recording
Stanley Road and that's when I did my bit on
"Walk On Gilded Splinters". He played me his song
"Wings Of Speed" and that was the feel I tried to get on
"Don't Look Back In Anger". I did it live for the first time
at Sheffield Arena. Should people put their lives in the hands
of a rock 'n' roll band?
If it's us then, yeah, I think they can.
Some of the lines come from John Lennon.  I got this tape in
America that had apparently been burgled from the Dakota
Hotel and someone had found these cassettes. Lennon was
starting to record his memoirs on tape. He's going on  about
'trying to start a revolution from me bed, because they said
the brains I had went to my head.'
                                 Thank you, I'll take that.
"

                                 This is how the music magazine Q reviews DLBA;
"...itīs a veritable epiphany; a song so colossally passionate
that, like ecstasy, it can make hordes of strangers suddenly
hug one another with undisguised love.
No one ever found out who Sally was, though..."

The video was shot in Pasadena, California by Nigel Dick.
Itīs with Oasis at the Avengers star Patrick McNeeīs
mansion. Thereīs lots of models there also.
One is Whiteys wife, Liz. Poor Liam is just walking around...
Theyīve said that there arenīt very pleased with this video.
No Us version was made, they used the same.

Hereīs the single version of DLBA, listen and enjoy!

The Lyrics:

Slip inside the eye of your mind
Don't you know you might find
                                 A better place to play
You said that you'd once never been
All the things that you've seen
                                 Will slowly fade away

So I start the revolution from my bed
Cos you said the brains I have went to my head
Step outside the summertime's in bloom
                                 Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out

So Sally can wait, she knows its too late
                                 As we're walking on by
Her soul slides away, but don't look back in anger
                                 I heard you say

Take me to the place where you go
Where nobody knows if it's night or day
Please don't put your life in the hands
Of a Rock n Roll band
                                 Who'll throw it all away

So I start the revolution from my bed
Cos you said the brains I have went to my head
Step outside the summertime's in bloom
                                 Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out

So Sally can wait, she knows its too late
                                 As we're walking on by
Her soul slides away, but don't look back in anger
                                 I heard you say

                                 Don't look back in anger
                                 Don't look back in anger
                                 Don't look back in anger
                                 At least not today
